I went into this movie at a sort-of neutral standpoint, and hadn't watched the original in a long time. I grew up watching The Lion King, and wanted to feel the same emotions I felt in the original. Here is my honest and very basic review about the film!
Overall, I am obviously biased because I love The Lion King, but I was not overly excited about any of the cast members. I was interested to see how well the emotions and story translated into "real-life," and how the music would be presented. I have to say, I was not disappointed.
I loved every minute of it! The graphics were phenomenal, the songs were on point, and I felt every feeling I could (so did the rest of the theatre 🤣👏🏼). I loved how I knew what was going to happen, but I was still surprised anyway by the execution. I couldn't have imagined the film any other way.
Some things that stood out to me were Seth Rogen's performance hilarious performance as Pumbaa, and the "Easter Egg" where Timon begins to sing "Be our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast.
Overall, I had a magical experience and I think that I would have given it 10 stars if it were longer! 🦁👑
